Pune, 27th May 2026: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices in Pune city have been increased by Rs 2.50 per kg, marking the second hike in less than a month amid rising input gas costs.

According to an announcement by Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL), the retail selling price of CNG in Pune has been revised from Rs 92.25 per kg to Rs 94.75 per kg with effect from midnight of May 27-28.

This follows an earlier price revision implemented on May 9, when the CNG rate was raised from Rs 90.75 per kg to Rs 92.25 per kg.

MNGL attributed the latest increase to a rise in input gas costs. The repeated hikes are expected to impact daily commuters, autorickshaw drivers, cab operators and transporters who rely heavily on CNG vehicles in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad.

The cumulative increase of Rs 4 per kg within less than a month has also raised concerns among transport operators over rising operational expenses.
