Coronavirus: 8968 new cases in Maharashtra today, 10,221 discharged

Mumbai, Aug 3, 2020: A total of 10,221 patients were discharged and 8968 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra while 781 new cases were reported in PMC today. Today, 266 COVID-19 deaths reported in the state, Case fatality rate in the state is 3.52%. The current count of COVID19 patients in the state of Maharashtra is 4,50,196 informed State Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

According to the health department, 2,87,030 patients have been cured while the Case fatality rate in the state is 3.52%. As of today, there are 1,47,018 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 63.76% while the fatality rate in the state is 3.52%. Currently, 9,40,486 people are in home quarantine and 37,009 people are in institutional quarantine.

Out of 22,98,723 laboratory samples, 4,50,196 have been tested positive (19.58%) for COVID-19 until today.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 1,803,695 across the country. Out of this, 1,186,203 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 38,135 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 579,357 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country. Till date, two crore 2 lakh 2 thousand 858 sample tests have been done. The recovery rate is 65.44 percent and the death rate is 2.13 percent.
