Crescent Fc wins in sudden death against DMR FC at the 21st guru Tegh Bahadur gold cup football tournament
Pune, January 7, 2023 :Sai Joshi of Crescent FC had a tumultuous outing, scoring the opening goal before missing to score in the tiebreaker as Cresent FC scored 1-0 sudden death win against Dastur Meher Road (DMR) FC in the first round match of the 21st guru Tegh Bahadur gold cup football tournament at the COEP ground in Shivajinagar here on Saturday.
In the first game of the day, Cresent FC took the lead in the 10th minute through Sai Joshi on a pass from Omkar Singh. Rehab Sayyed found the equaliser in the 55th minute for DMR FC when Pravunder Singh set him up in the scoring range.
Tiebreaker was enforced as the teams were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time with the early round matches being played over 30 minute per half.
In the tiebreaker Abhijit K., Omkar singh, Neel Deshmukh, Irfan Sayyed wcored for Crescent FC. Rehab Sayyed, Bryan Joseph, Mushtagish, Adnan Shaikh andAmir Qureshi struck the target for DMR FC . In the sudden death Tanish Shinde found the target for Crescent FC but Pravindersingh missed as DMR lost the match.
In other matches, Eagle FC edged out CMS Falcons 6-4 in tiebreaker after teams were tied at 1-1.
