Cyber Fraud: Pune Man Loses Rs 25 Lakh To Part-Time Job Offer

Aundh, 22nd April 2023: A garage owner from Aundh Road in Pune has lost a staggering amount of 25 lakh 50 thousand rupees to cyber thieves in the name of a part-time job.

According to police, the victim was lured by the cyber thieves through WhatsApp messages promising a huge salary for a part-time job where he had to click videos and like them. Initially, the victim was paid for his work, but gradually the cyber thieves started sending him prepaid tasks through telegram links and asked him to transfer money to various bank accounts.

When the victim realized that he had been defrauded, he filed a complaint at the cyber police station in Shivajinagar. The police have registered a case of fraud under the Information Technology Act against the cyber thieves and are investigating the matter further.
