Pune, December 17, 2020: By luring to secure a seat in Doctor of Medicine (MD) course, a duo duped a medical graduate of Rs 30.10 lakh online. Saurabh Lambature (26), a MBBS graduate has lodged a complaint against Santosh Kumar and Shyama alias Babubhai at the Hadapsar Police Station.

The complainant is aspiring to pursue a post-graduation in medicine and applied for it on a website. A few days after the application, he got a call from an unknown person who pretended to give him admission to the MD course. After which the doctor and the caller started talking.

Santosh Kumar and his partner Shyama demanded Rs 30.10 lakh in stages for various fees from Lambature and asked him to transfer the amount into their bank account. The duo then, switched off their phones. The complainant grew suspicious as despite depositing the amount, he didn’t get any admission in MD at any college. Soon, Lambature lodged a complaint with the Hadapsar police after realizing that the accused had defrauded him. A case has been registered; sub-inspector of police RR Patil is investigating the case.
