Don’t Ask For Tickets While Sitting On Passengers Seats: PMPML To Conductors

Pune, 19th January 2023: While travelling in Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) buses, the conductor often asks passengers to take tickets by sitting on one of the seats. However, as this behaviour violates the rules, the passengers have complained to the PMPML administration about this.
Henceforth, the conductor have been asked to go near the passenger and issue them the ticket instead of sitting on the seat.
1,500 buses of PMPML are running in the city every day. So, the total number of passengers is close to one million. As PMPML is being looked at as the major public transport system in Pune, there is a rush to provide more facilities to the citizens. Due to the high number of passengers and the low number of buses, most of the time many people do not even get a place to sit. In such a case, a complaint has come to the administration that the behaviour of the conductor is disturbing the passengers.
Pradip Ithape of Adarsh Punekar Seva Sangh Sanstha has complained to the PMPML administration in this regard that many conductors are sitting on the seats and asking citizens to buy tickets while sitting there. Therefore, it is demanded that these conductors should be instructed to improve their behaviour.
Accordingly, the PMPML administration has issued a circular in this regard and ordered that the conductor should not behave in such a way that the image of PMPML will not be defamed and the conductor should not sit on the seats and collect the ticket without going near the passengers.
