DSK can be arrested soon ?
PUNE – After the Bombay High Court removed the interim protection from arrest to builder DS Kulkarni and his wife Hemanti, Pune city police can arrest him soon. The HC has reserved final order on his anticipatory bail application till February 22.
Kulkarni, better known as DSK, and his wife are facing arrest in a case under the Maharashtra Protection of Interests of Depositors (MPID) Act for allegedly cheating several depositors of hundreds of crores rupees by defaulting on payment of interest and matured deposits.
He had been promising to deposit Rs 50 crores with the HC but had always failed on several dates. Then, he said that Buldhana Urban Society will purchase a plot for Rs 12 crores but it was found that the plot is already mortagaged with Bank of Maharashtra. Therefore, the HC vacated the stay on his arrest.
