Due To Lack Of Funds For Wife’s Treatment, Man Dies By Suicide
Baramati, 26th October 2021: A man suffering from depression due to lack of money for his wife’s medical treatment allegedly died by suicide.
This incident took place at Kutwalwadi village in Baramati taluka of Pune district on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Manohar Sambhaji Kutwal (35).
Wadgaon Nimbalkar police have registered a case of accidental death in this regard, informed Assistant Police Inspector Somnath Lande.
Manohar’s wife was suffering from cancer. Therefore, she had been undergoing treatment at Jehangir Hospital in Pune for the last two months. Manohar had deposited around Rs 4.5 lakh in the hospital.
Due to lack of money for treatment, Manohar committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree on Saturday morning after receiving a message from the hospital to pay more.
Pune-based Charity Commissioner Sudhir Kumar Bukke told that no one should take such an extreme decision as suicide. A total of 4 lakh 45 thousand will be given to this woman from the Charity Commissioner’s Fund. Bukke also said that from now on, the cost of treatment for the woman will be paid by the charity office.
