Election Commission launches digital voter ID card, follow these seven easy steps to download

New Delhi, 30 January 2021: On the occasion of National Voters’ Day on 25 January, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has introduced digital voter ID cards. It is called the Electronic Electoral Photo Identity Card (e-EPIC) and will be available in PDF format. E-EPIC is just like E-Aadhaar. It can only be printed and cannot be edited.

This facility will be available only to those who have applied for a voter ID card in November and December last year. The digital voter ID card will be available to all from February 1. People who lost voter ID cards can also download duplicate cards for free. Currently, a fee of Rs 25 is being charged for this.

Seven easy ways to download a digital voter id card:

1. Go to voterportal.eci.gov.in. Create an account by entering related details.

2. Log in after creating an account. Go to the menu “Download e-EPIC.”

3. Enter your EPIC number or reference number. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.

4. After this, click on “Download EPIC” now. If the mobile number mentioned on the card is different, then you have to complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) process to download the card.

5. After updating the number through KYC, you can download the digital voter ID card.

6. If you have lost your e-EPIC number, you can check for it at voterportal.eci.gov.in.

7. Digital voter ID cards can also be generated from the mobile voter app, which can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
