Election Of 221 Gram Panchayats In Pune District Announced
Pune, 10th November 2022: The election schedule of Gram Panchayats (Member post including Sarpanch post) which were excluded from the last elections due to not appearing in the report of the newly constituted and dedicated Commission expiring from October to December 2022, was announced by the Election Commission on Wednesday (November 8). Accordingly, the election of 221 Gram Panchayats in the Pune district will be held.
According to the Supreme Court’s order, the Dedicated Backward Classes Commission, set up to determine the proportion of backwards-class citizens in the local self-government bodies, submitted a report to the government on July 7.
Accordingly, the Supreme Court has ordered the State Election Commission to conduct the next elections by considering the recommendations made by the Backward Classes Commission.
The election of 221 Gram Panchayats in the district, which was excluded from the last elections has been announced.
Among the gram panchayats in the district where the election has been announced, the highest number is 54 in Bhor taluka, 28 in Velhe taluka, 26 in Indapur, 23 in Khed, 21 in Ambegaon, 17 in Junnar, 13 in Baramati, 11 in Mulshi, nine in Maval, eight in Daund, seven in Haveli and four in Shirur are included in 221 Gram Panchayats in 12 talukas, informed the District Election Branch.
The election program will be published by Tehsildar on November 18. The nomination form can be filled out from November 28 to December 2 till 3.00 pm. Scrutiny of the received nomination forms will be held on December 5 and the deadline for withdrawal of nomination forms is December 7. Election symbols will be given on December 7 and voting will be held on December 18. The counting of votes will be held on December 20 and the election result notification will be published on December 23 by the Collectorate.
