Entrepreneur Neha Narkhede From Pune Among America’s Wealthiest Self-Made Women
Pune, 16th July 2023: Neha Narkhede has gained recognition as one of America’s most accomplished women entrepreneurs, securing a spot on Forbes’ list of richest self-made women.
With a net worth of $520 million (approximately Rs 4,200 crores), Neha Narkhede (38) is making waves as the co-founder and board member of Confluent, a cloud services software company valued at $9.1 billion (roughly Rs 75,000 crore).
Born and raised in Pune, Neha ventured to the United States in 2006 to pursue her Master’s degree. Shortly after completing her education, she joined Oracle as a technical staff member before transitioning to a software engineer role at LinkedIn. Rapidly climbing the ranks, she advanced to Senior Software Engineer within a year and was promoted to Principal Software Engineer just one year later.
Neha’s pivotal moment came when she became involved in streaming infrastructure, leading a team in developing an open-source messaging system that efficiently handled data for the site.
In 2014, Neha, along with two colleagues, left LinkedIn to embark on a new journey, co-founding Confluent. This cloud solutions company assists businesses in processing vast amounts of data. Neha served as the Chief Technology and Product Officer for five years before transitioning to her current role as a board member.
In 2021, Neha embarked on a new venture, launching Oscilar, where she serves as CEO.
In a recent CNBC interview, Neha attributed a significant part of her success to her father, who played a crucial role in inspiring and motivating her. He introduced her to books and shared stories of remarkable women who held high positions. Neha drew inspiration from influential figures like Indira Gandhi, Indra Nooyi, and Kiran Bedi.
