Pune, 4th July 2026: The fathers of four boys seen travelling together on a single scooter in a viral video were summoned and counselled by Pune Traffic Police after the clip sparked widespread concern over alleged underage riding and road safety violations.

The video, which is said to have been recorded in the Warje area, shows four boys travelling on a Honda Activa (MH 12 XY 6901). One of them appears to be riding the scooter while the other three are seated on it, with the vehicle visibly wobbling under the weight of all four occupants.

In the footage, a passerby follows the scooter and questions the boys about their age. One of them confidently replies that they are all 18 years old. When the rider is specifically asked about his age, another boy jokingly says, “We all are 18. Our heights have got locked. We all go to the gym.”

During the interaction, the boys repeatedly attempt to conceal their faces from the camera.
The video quickly spread across social media, prompting a flood of reactions. Many users doubted the boys’ claim, with several commenting that they appeared to be around 15 or 16 years old. Others criticised the dangerous act of carrying four people on a two-wheeler and questioned the lack of adherence to basic traffic rules.

Many netizens also shared the popular Marathi phrase, “Pune tithe kay une?”—a saying often used humorously to suggest that almost anything can happen in Pune.

Following the circulation of the video, Pune Traffic Police identified the boys and called their fathers to the traffic office. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sandeep Bhajibhakare personally counselled the parents, stressing the serious risks associated with allowing minors to operate vehicles and the importance of ensuring that children comply with traffic laws.

The incident has once again drawn attention to the persistent issue of underage driving in Pune, particularly in the wake of several road accidents involving young riders in recent years.
