First death of Coronavirus positive patient in Pune, total 30 dead across country

Pune, March 30, 2020: A 52-year-old person undergoing treatment at a private hospital succumbed to COVID19 today.

Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol said, “The patient was admitted at Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital for other health issues including diabetes. Later the person was found Coronavirus positive and today he died during treatment.”

He appealed people to maintain social distancing and abide by lockdown order. The total number of positive cases in Pune district has become 42 out of which 15 have been discharged and one has died. The first case was detected on March 9 in Pune.

In Maharashtra, the total number of positive cases has increased to 193. Eight people have died while 25 have been discharged in the state.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data, till 10.30 am today, there are 1071 cases across the country with 29 deaths. 100 persons have been cured and discharged from hospitals.
