Former BJP MLA Yogesh Tilekar and 41 others granted bail

Pune, October 8, 2020: A court today granted bail to 41 people, including former BJP MLA Yogesh Tilekar and four corporators, in a case of insulting and pushing an executive engineer of the municipal water supply department demanding regular water supply in Kondhwa-Yewalewadi ward office area.

The accused were remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. They had applied for bail on Wednesday. The application was heard today.

A case has been registered against former MLA Tilekar and his supporters at the Swargate police station under various sections for obstructing government work. The arrested corporators are Ranjana Tilekar, Rani Bhosale, Rishali Kamthe and Veersen Jagtap. Executive Engineer Ashit Dev Prakash Jadhav has filed a complaint in this regard.

Tilekar agitated at the office of the Water Supply Department at Swargate to improve water supply. According to police, Tilekar broke the glass on the complainant’s desk and threw the office file. Activists damaged office chairs and smashed glass. After that, Tilekar pushed the complainant out of the office and obstructed government work.
