“Future CM” Banners for Sunetra Pawar Trigger Speculation Across Pune
Pune, 25th April 2026: Political talks started across Pune after banners appeared projecting NCP leader Sunetra Pawar as the “future Chief Minister of Maharashtra,” put up by party workers ahead of the Baramati election results, triggering fresh speculation even before counting.
The posters, installed reportedly on the initiative of youth leader Karan Gaikwad, describe Sunetra Pawar as the “first future woman Chief Minister,” signalling strong confidence among party workers about her electoral prospects.
Supporters also marked the moment with firecracker celebrations, reflecting optimism within the faction ahead of counting day.
Similar hoardings in the past had projected Ajit Pawar as a future Chief Minister, continuing a pattern of symbolic leadership branding within the party.
The latest posters, however, have added a new dimension to the political narrative within the Mahayuti alliance, drawing attention from both supporters and critics.
Sunetra Pawar has not yet commented on the banners. Meanwhile, the display has sparked discussion over internal dynamics and early leadership positioning within the ruling coalition.
Political observers say such projections ahead of results could further intensify debate and shift attention towards post-election equations.
