Give priority to children of martyred police, armed forces and paramilitary personnel in vocational courses: Uday Samant

Pune, February 1, 2021: At the institutional quota for vocational courses under the jurisdiction of the Directorate of Technical Education and in the centralized admission process, the number of vacancies at the institution level is more than one per cadre for the police personnel who died in terrorist attacks as well as military personnel / paramilitary personnel who died on duty, Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant informed.

As per the government resolution, orders have been issued to provide free education to the families of police and other state government employees who were martyred in the Mumbai terror attack. According to this, tuition fees, as well as other fees, are compensated by the government to the eligible students. Expressing sympathy for the families of the brave martyrs, he said that it is necessary to provide financial support to their families as well as proper education facilities.

Similarly, the decision will also benefit the children of military or paramilitary personnel who were martyred in a terrorist attack. These rules will be applicable for admissions in and after the academic year 2020-21, said Samant.
