Good start for Strikers FC at Guru Tegh Bahadur football tournament

Pune, January 6, 2023: Strikers FC beat in suddendeath scored a 4-3 win over Shivneri Strikers FC at the 21st Guru Tegh Bahadur gold cup football tournament which is being organized by Guru Tegh Bahadur sports foundation (GTBSF) and played at the COEP ground, Shivajinagar
Aditya Kamble set the tone for Strikers FC with his 25th minute goal on a pass from Sagar Jadhav as the Strikers FC defeated Shivneri FC 4-3 in sudden death after the match ended 1-1 at the end of the regulation time. Tie breaker also failed to break the deadlock as the teams remained tied at 3-3. In the ensuing sudden death Strikers rode on to the strikes from Venkat Kodamuri, Omkar Narawde, Atharva Sanap, and Vishal Kumar, while Rajesh Pawar, Harsh Pandey and Vishal Thapa scored for Shivneri, while Tejpal Kadayat missed scoring the spot kick.
Strikers began on a high note in the match being played for 30 minutes per half.
In the 25th minute Sagar Jadhav set up Aditya Kamble nicely in the scoring range and he made no mistakes to make it 1-0 for the eventual winners. It took nine minutes in the second half for Shivneri FC to find the equaliser through Smith Raion a pass by Hemant Caria.
The tournament was inaugurated at the hands of Mr.Narendra Bhandari, Past international director of Lions Club International, Lion RK Shah, senior lion member of Lions Club International, Mr. S.S. Ahluwalia ,President of the GTBSF, MrAbhay Shastri, Past district governor, Mr.Rajinder Singh Walia, Rani Ahluwalia, Mr.Ravindra Bhosale, president of Lions Club Pune Kothrud, Rajveer Singh Ghai, LS Narang, Inderjeet Singh Chawla, Jeevnit Singh Chawla, Lion Ketan Shinde Treasurer of Lions Club Pune Kothrud, Lion Girish Ganatra, acitivity chair person were present.
