Grassland Safari Soon In Pune, Forest Dept To Start Online Booking From October 18
Pune 16th Oct 2023: Claimed to be the first of its kind initiative in Maharashtra, the forest department has prepared a plan to start grassland safari in Pune and Solapur districts. An official application for booking for citizens is also likely to start from October 18. It is likely to be introduced in Baramati and Indapur tehsils.
According to the officials, many animals and birds can be seen in these areas around Pune and Solapur. The forest department has already made a tourism plan for the forest development in the area taking along the villagers and experts in the field. The local villagers have been provided training management skills and tour guides for wildlife protection and conservation.
The initiative according to the forest officials is part of its grassland management program. The initiative also aims to increase employment in the area as tourism will get a boost once people start visiting these places through official booking.
