Heavy Rains Slow Down Traffic in Pune; Police Issue Advisory
Pune, 15th September 2025: Continuous heavy rains in Pune city have led to waterlogging at several locations, causing traffic congestion and slow movement of vehicles. To manage the situation, the Pune City Traffic Police have issued an advisory urging citizens to exercise caution while travelling.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav appealed to residents to check traffic updates before stepping out and to use alternate routes wherever possible.
According to the advisory, citizens are requested to avoid non-essential travel, especially during peak hours between 5 pm and 8 pm. Those who need to travel are advised to plan their journeys during off-peak hours, preferably between 12 pm and 5 pm, to ease congestion.
“Cooperation of all citizens is solicited to ensure smooth traffic movement,” said DCP Jadhav in the advisory.
Authorities have also urged people to remain alert for waterlogging zones and to strictly follow traffic police instructions on the ground.
