Hockey Maharashtra Exposure and Exchange programme ends 2-2

Pune, 6th January 2025: Hockey Maharashtra shared spoils overall after their men team won a ‘double’ against Hockey Club Inter-Mol, Belgium, while their women team were outclassed, losing to a superior HC Bloemendaal, Netherlands in a first of it’s kind Hockey Maharashtra Exposure and Exchange programme friendly matches at the Maj. Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri.

The three-day hockey fest brought together the finest talent from Europe. The men’s team – Hockey Club Inter-Mol, Belgium – was courtesy the Collective Minds Foundation, whose plan was to exchange experiences between the two countries through hockey.

Likewise, the women’s team – HC Bloemendaal, Netherlands – tour to India was driven by the Bovelander Foundation, headed by Dutch Olympic gold medallist Floris Jan Bovelander.

The exhibition matches were planned over 3 days, with the first two days having the men’s teams fight it off followed by the women in an encounter each. The final day had both teams face off for the second time which concluded the friendly contest.

During the contest, Hockey Maharashtra men’s team proved superior and won both their matches with ease. First, they won 3-1 and later completed a 5-0 rout.

The women were outclassed by the Dutch team. They lost the opener 0-10 and later 0-18 in a ‘Dutch Dominance’ in a contest far from a competition barring exposure to a classy opponent.
