Home Minister Shah said accountability will be fixed

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has termed this incident as big negligence. He tweeted and said – A detailed report on the security lapses of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Punjab has been demanded. Such negligence in the security process during the visit of the Prime Minister is completely unacceptable. Accountability will be fixed in this matter. This Congress produced incident in Punjab is a trailer of how the party thinks and works. The repeated rejection by the people has led the party to the path of madness.

Terming it a big lapse in the security of PM Modi, the Home Ministry has called for a report from the Punjab Police. The Home Ministry in its statement said that after a “major security lapse” in the Prime Minister’s visit to Punjab, his convoy decided to return. We have asked the Punjab government to fix the responsibility of this lapse and take strict action.

PM Modi said – Thank Your Chief Minister

At the same time, Bathinda airport officials told news agency ANI that on returning to Bathinda airport, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the officials- thank your Chief Minister that I was able to return alive to Bathinda airport…

The convoy was increased after getting the clearance

According to news agency ANI, PM Modi had reached Bathinda on Wednesday morning, from where he was supposed to go by helicopter to the National Martyrs Memorial at Hussainiwala, but due to rain and poor visibility, he waited for about 20 minutes for the weather to clear. With no improvement in the weather conditions, the convoy decided to proceed to the memorial by road. According to the report, PM Modi’s convoy had moved ahead by road after DGP Punjab Police confirmed the necessary security arrangements, during which the incident took place.

Question on the deployment of additional security personnel

The Union Home Ministry further said that some protesters blocked the road when PM Modi’s convoy reached a flyover, about 30 km from the National Martyrs Memorial in Hussainiwala. PM Modi and his convoy were stuck on the flyover for 15-20 minutes. This was a big fault. The Punjab government was informed about the Prime Minister’s schedule and visit long before. The Punjab government was asked to deploy additional security personnel, to secure any movement by road but no such forces were not deployed.
