Huge Response to the Oxford Premier League 2024 in Pune
Pune, 11th February 2024: The highly anticipated 2nd Oxford Premier League scheduled to take place in Pune in April is generating an overwhelming response. The Player’s Auction was conducted today in Pune, aiming to enlist top players from across the country for the 12 participating teams. Intense competition unfolded among team owners as they vied to secure their preferred players, setting the stage for highly competitive golf matches in this year’s OPL. The bidding for the best players to form teams for this international league match took place in Pune today.
The event was inaugurated by Anil Seolekar, the President of the Golf Industry Association, and 5 Oxford Golf Course Director. Each team was inaugurated by presenting the flag and cutting the cake. Notable figures present at the ceremony included former FICCI President Neelam Seolekar, Aditya Malpani of Ace Golfing, along with players and team sponsors.
During the auction, Pramod Kalia was acquired by the team Blissing Birdies in the gold category with a bid of 68 lakhs. In the silver category, Saubhagya Raul joined the Eagle Forces with a bid of 112 lakhs, and in the bronze category, Vaibhav Dwivedi was included by the Roaring Tigers Nagpur team with a bid of 19 lakhs. Each team successfully secured top players through competitive bidding.
The auction took place at Oxford Golf Resort, and over twelve teams are set to participate in this league. Renowned teams such as Eagle Forces, Bindhast Boys, SJ Sultan Swings, Blistering Birdies, Zingers, Green Gadders, Gaditors, Pune Lions, Subban Sunrisers, Dubai Falcon, The League Club, Softail Swingers, and Blissering Birdies have already confirmed their participation. Organizers express confidence that this year’s Oxford Premier League will be exceptionally challenging and glamorous.
