Huge Traffic Jams In Pune Due To Heavy Rain Today
Pune, 11th July 2022: The rain which started on Sunday (July 10) night in Pune city also affected the traffic on Monday (July 11) morning. The rains caused a large number of citizens to bring four-wheelers on the roads, causing major traffic jams on the city’s main roads and internal roads. Many were late for work in the morning due to traffic jams.
It has been raining continuously for five days in the city. Meanwhile, heavy rains have intensified since Sunday night. The roads were flooded due to the overnight rains. There were also incidents of falling trees in many places. Meanwhile, as it is the first day of the week, most of the citizens preferred to take four-wheelers on Monday morning.
As a result, traffic jams were seen on Baner Road, Aundh Road, Ganeshkhind Road, Pune-Mumbai Old Highway at Khadki, Wagholi on Nagar Road, Yerawada, Sinhagad Road, Satara Road, Solapur Road, Chandni Chowk, Karve Road from 8.30 am.
Heavy rains caused potholes on the roads and water caused traffic to slow down in many places. Therefore, the use of internal roads was preferred by most of the citizens. As a result, there was a huge traffic jam on the internal roads this morning.
The roads leading to Shivajinagar from Swargate, Senapati Bapat Road, Karve Road, Law college Road, Bajirao Road, Khadki, Savitribai Phule Pune University Chowk (SPPU) were heavily congested.
