If PAN Card Has Not Been Linked With Aadhar Card, Then From July 1, This Much Penalty Will Have To Be Paid

Pune, 3rd June 2022: The last date for linking PAN card with Aadhar card is 31 March 2023. But now one has to pay penalty for linking Aadhar-PAN card.

In a notification issued on March 29, 2022, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) had said that after March 31, 2022, a penalty of Rs 500 will have to be paid for linking with Aadhar card and PAN card.

In such a situation, if a person does not link Aadhaar card and PAN card by 30 June 2022, then they will have to pay a more fine instead of Rs 500.

 

In the circular issued by CBDT, it has been said that if taxpayers link PAN card with Aadhaar card by June 30, 2022, then they will have to pay a fine of Rs 500.

 

Taxpayers who link their Aadhar card with their PAN card on or after July 1, will have to pay a fine of Rs 1000 instead of Rs 500. This payment will be done through challan number ITNS 280.

If the taxpayers are not able to link the Aadhar card and PAN card by 31 March 2023, then their PAN card will become inactive.

 

 

The following are the steps to link PAN card with Aadhar card:

 

1. First of all go to www.incometax.gov.in .

2. In the Quick Links section, go to the Link Aadhaar option. On clicking which a new window will open.

3. Now share your PAN, Aadhaar with name and mobile number details.

4. After filling all the information correctly, go to the ‘I Validate My Aadhaar Details’ option and click on the Continue option.

5. An OTP will come to your registered mobile number.

6. Fill it correctly and click on Validate. After that pay the penalty.

7. Your PAN and Aadhaar will be linked once all the process is completed.
