IMD Issues Heavy Rainfall Alert Today For Pune, Nashik And Palghar

Pune, 15th September 2021: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in Palghar, Nashik and Pune on Wednesday (September 15). Rainfall is expected in most parts of Konkan and some places in central Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha for the next three days.

 

According to the IMD, the deep depression formed on the northern part of the coast of Odisha has shifted to the internal part of Odisha. At present, this low-pressure area is 50 km from Kinojharagad in southeast Odisha and 100 km from Chandbeli.

 

The low-pressure belt will cross northern Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh in the next 24 hours. In the next 12 hours, the intensity of this low-pressure area will decrease. South Gujarat and adjoining areas have also been experiencing low-pressure areas for the last few days and its intensity will continue for another day.

 

Due to this, Mumbai and Konkan coastal areas will receive heavy rainfall and a heavy rainfall alert has been issued for three districts Pune, Nashik and Palghar.

 

On Tuesday, Pune city received 0.9 mm rainfall, 0.2 mm rainfall each in Sangli and Kolhapur, 2 mm in Satara and 37 mm in Mahabaleshwar.

 

The highest temperature was recorded at 33.4 degrees Celsius in Solapur, while the lowest was recorded at Mahabaleshwar at 17.5 degrees Celsius.
