Increase In ‘Indiscipline’ Of Drivers On Pune-Mumbai Expressway

Pune, 6th October 2022: There has been an increase in vehicle indiscipline on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway and there has been an increase in incidents like over-speeding, lane cutting, and driving without a seat belt on the Expressway in the last one month.
After the accidental death of Shiv Sangram Association president, former MLA Vinayak Mete and former Tata group chairman Cyrus Mistry, the Traffic Department of the police has come into action mode and has announced the statistics of indiscipline.
It has been seen that citizens are driving at full speed on the Pune Mumbai Expressway and in September, the police filed 16,000 citations for over speeding and 5,000 vehicles have done lane cutting, according to the highway police.
In the Pune area, last month action was taken against 798 vehicles for lane cutting, 275 vehicles for over-speeding and 55 cars for driving without using a seat belt.
