India Beat Afghanistan In Asia Cup Comfortably

Pune, 8th September 2022: India beat Afghanistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the Super Four Match 5 of the Asia Cup by 101 runs. Afghanistan elected to bowl first after winning the toss.
India put up a mammoth score of 212 runs at the loss of just two wickets. Virat Kohli struck his 71st century. Kohli scored 122 runs off just 61 balls. This was the highest individual T20I score for India. It was also the highest score against Afghanistan in the T20s. In reply, Afghanistan only managed 111 runs for 8 wickets.
Kohli beat Ricky Pointing in the number of centuries. He is only behind Sachin Tendulkar who has 100 international hundreds to his name. To add to Afghanistan’s miseries Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered his career-best figures in T20Is. He picked up a fifer in his four overs. He conceded only 4 runs and bowled one maiden over.
