India Beat Afghanistan In Asia Cup

India beat Afghanistan on 8th September 2022 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the Super Four Match 5 of the Asia Cup by 101 runs. Afghanistan elected to bowl first after winning the toss. India put up a mammoth score of 212 runs at the loss of just two wickets. Virat Kohli struck his 71st century.Virat Kohli scored 122 runs off just 61 balls. This was the highest individual T20I score for India. It was also the highest score against Afghanistan in the T20s. In reply Afghanistan only managed 111 runs for 8 wickets.

 

Virat Kohli beat Ricky Pointing in the number of centuries. He is only behind Sachin Tendulkar who has 100 international hundreds to his name. To add to Afghanistan’s miseries Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered his career-best figures in T20Is. He picked up a fifer in his four overs. He conceded only 4 runs and bowled 1 maiden over. This was the first time any team had picked up a 5-fer against Afghanistan. They conceded a 100 and 5-fer together for the first time.
