Murshidabad, 11th August 2025: In a striking display of coordination and combat readiness, the Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army conducted a joint training exercise with the Indian Navy and Indian Air Force, featuring the high-intensity helocasting phase at the strategically located Farrakka Barrage on August 7–8.
The exercise involved Special Forces from the Army and Navy performing helocasting and low-level water insertion operations from an Indian Air Force Mi-17 V5 helicopter. In this stealth insertion method, troops disembark from a low-flying helicopter into water and either swim or use boats to reach their designated target—ideal for rapid, covert operations. The drill took place in the waters of the Farrakka Barrage, a vital strategic point in Murshidabad district.
The operation’s primary objective was to refine waterborne Special Forces insertion tactics, secure critical assets in challenging environments, and further strengthen jointmanship between the three armed services. The training emphasized the need for synchronized efforts in modern warfare, where land, sea, and air domains must operate in harmony.
The joint drill also showcased the operational precision, endurance, and trust among the participating units. “This exercise is a testament to the synergy, speed, and precision of our armed forces. It reaffirms that we are fully prepared for all eventualities against all adversaries, in every domain—land, sea, or air,” said a senior military official.
Such tri-service exercises ensure that the Army, Navy, and Air Force can swiftly and effectively respond to any threat to the nation’s strategic infrastructure.
