IPL 2023: Kolkata’s Playoff Hopes Still Alive! Kolkata Wins By Five Wickets Against Punjab
Kolkata, 8th May 2023: In the 53rd match of IPL 2023, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Eden Gardens stadium, Kolkata. Rinku Singh’s last-ball boundary grabs victory for Punjab Kings and KKR keeps their playoff hopes alive with a five-wicket win over Punjab Kings.
Batting first in this match, Punjab scored 179 runs for seven wickets. In reply, Kolkata reached the target with the loss of five wickets off the last ball. With this win, Kolkata Knight Riders have 10 points in 11 matches and the team has come to the fifth position in the points table. At the same time, Punjab is in the seventh position in the points table with 10 points from 11 matches.
Skipper Shikhar Dhawan scored the highest 57 runs for Punjab in this match. At the same time, Varun Chakravarthy took three wickets and Harshit Rana took two wickets. Nitish Rana scored 51 runs and Andre Russell scored 42 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders. Rahul Chahar took two wickets for Punjab.

The spinners did wonders for Kolkata. Varun Chakravarthy took the most three wickets. Harshit Rana got two wickets. Suyash Sharma and Nitish Rana took one wicket each.
