IRCTC Launches Beta Version of New Ticket Booking Website with Simpler Interface, Faster Checkout
New Delhi 16th July 2026: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched the beta version of its redesigned ticket booking website, allowing users to experience the new interface and share feedback before the platform is rolled out fully.
The beta version is available at https://www.irctc.co.in/eticket/ and can also be accessed through a dedicated link on the homepage of the existing IRCTC website.
The redesigned portal introduces a cleaner interface and a simplified booking experience. According to IRCTC, the website has been developed based on suggestions received from students of Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), who interacted with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw during the design process.
The new beta version includes four major changes aimed at improving the ticket booking experience. It removes unnecessary captchas, pop-up windows, flashing graphics and other distracting elements. Seat availability is now displayed across all travel classes, while the booking process has been shortened by reducing the number of steps required for checkout. The website also allows users to save passenger details to make repeat bookings faster.
IRCTC said the existing website, first launched in 2002, currently processes an average of around 14.5 lakh railway tickets every day. The redesigned platform has been introduced on a trial basis to gather user feedback before its full-scale implementation.
The corporation stated that suggestions received from users during the beta phase will be incorporated into future updates to further improve the website.
IRCTC also confirmed that the redesigned portal will soon be integrated with the new Passenger Reservation Engine, which is being upgraded simultaneously. The new reservation system, which powers train ticket bookings across multiple railway applications, is expected to be launched in the coming weeks after the ongoing revamp is completed.
Users have been invited to explore the beta version and submit feedback that will help refine the platform before the full rollout of the upgraded IRCTC ticket booking system.
