IT Engineer Shot Dead By Friends During Party In Kondhwa, Pune Police Arrest Two Accused

Pune, 14th October 2021: A 47-year-old IT engineer was shot dead in the head during a party at his flat in Kondhwa on Sunday. His two friends who were present at the time of the incident there had told police that he died by suicide.

However, now Pune city police have arrested the duo on charges of killing Ganesh Yashwant Tarlekar, a resident of Sunflower society near D-Mart in Kondhwa.

The arrested persons have been identified as Sagar Dilip Binawat and Dattatraya Devidas Hazare, both residents of Kondhwa Budruk. Spurti Tarlekar of Pisoli has registered an FIR against the duo at the Kondhwa police station.

According to police, Tarlekar had been living alone in the house for the last one and a half years due to family disputes. On Sunday, there was a party at his flat and they had consumed alcohol.

On Monday, after getting information about Tarlekar not responding, police reached the spot and found him in a pool of blood. Police launched an investigation after it was found that he had been shot in the head with a pistol.

Accordingly, Sagar and Dattatraya, who had come to the party, were nabbed and questioned by the police. The duo had told police that Ganesh had shot himself. They got frightened and fled with the pistol and threw it in a well. Police recovered the pistol from the well.

After investigation, police have arrested them on charges of murder.

Police Inspector Jagannath Jankar informed that an investigation is underway to find out the motive behind the murder.
