JEE Advanced 2020 Results Declared

Pune, October 5, 2020: The result of JEE Advanced Examination has been released. This time a total of 43,204 students from all over the country have qualified in the exam. 

Pune resident Chirag Falor of IIT Bombay Zone has emerged as the top-ranked in the Common Rank List (CRL) in 2020. He scored 352 out of 396. Kanishka Mittal of IIT Roorkee zone is the top-ranked female topper with CRL 17. She scored 315 out of 396. 

This year, Class 12 marks have not been considered while preparing the results. This decision was taken according to the new rule. Earlier, to participate in JEE Advanced, it was mandatory for the students to get 75 per cent marks in the class 12 board examination. Due to COVID-19 this year, many boards including CBSE and CISCE have declared the results on the basis of special schemes. 

JEE Advanced 2020 Results: Criteria

Total marks for the rank list will be calculated as the sum of marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Candidates will have to complete the total merit marks to be included in a rank list along with the subject list.

Maximum favourable marks: 396 (198 each in Paper 1 and Paper 2)

Maximum marks in Physics: 132 (66 each in Paper 1) and Paper 2)

Maximum marks in Chemistry: 132 (66 each in Paper 1 and Paper 2)

Maximum marks in Mathematics: 132 (66 each in Paper 1 and Paper 2)

 

Counselling rounds

Counselling rounds will be held from October 6. On the basis of merit, counselling will be conducted one day after the result from October 6. To ensure timely admission and commencement of classes, the number of counselling rounds has been reduced to six instead of seven. 

This year results are also being announced in record time. The examination was held on 27 September.
