J&K Youth Arrested For Creating Bomb Hoax At Pune Airport

Viman Nagar, 15th January 2022: A 21-year-old youth has been arrested by Pune city police for allegedly creating a bomb hoax at Pune airport on Thursday night.

Based on a complaint from Simran Ambule (20), a junior security executive of Go First airline, an FIR has been registered against Manik Pratap Singh, a resident of the district police line in Gandhinagar, Jammu. He currently resides in Bhugaon, Pune. He is second year law student.

According to police, the incident took place while he was boarding the aircraft which was about to take off for Delhi. When asked if there is any sharp objects, liquid, matchbox etc, Manik said that there was a bomb in his bag. Ambule informed her seniors who alerted the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). They handed him over to Pune city police.

Police officials said that during interrogation Manik told them that he was fed up with the frequent bag checking and hence he blurted out that there was a bomb in his bag.

Later a case was registered against him for offences under section 182 (false information) and 505 (1) (b) (statement conducting public mischief with intent to cause, or which is likely to cause fear or alarm to the public) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

 

Police Sub-Inspector Milan Jogan is further investigating the case.
