According to JNU, the admissions to various programmes will be conducted through different national-level entrance examinations. For the undergraduate programmes, courses such as BA (Honours) in foreign languages, BSc in Ayurveda Biology, and Certificate of Proficiency programmes, CUET (UG) will be conducted, and admission will be given based on performance.

Candidates for the BTech programmes will be selected through JEE Main scores. Admissions for the postgraduate programmes, like MA, MSc, MPH, MTech, PG Diploma, and Advanced Diploma, will happen based on CUET (PG) scores.

GAT-B will be conducted for admissions to specialised programmes like MSc Biotechnology and MSc Computational Biology. CCMT will be conducted for students applying for MTech courses in Computer Science and Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering.
