Pune, 20th August 2025: Kalika Steel, one of Maharashtra’s leading TMT bar manufacturers and a strong advocate for sustainability and innovation in construction, has announced the return of its flagship initiative, KREATE. Now in its second edition, KREATE 2025 invites architecture, civil, and structural engineering students from across Maharashtra to participate in a unique trophy design challenge that combines creativity, engineering, and environmental purpose.

The 2025 edition features a new theme, Celebrating Sustainability – A Tribute To The Changemakers. Aimed at architecture, civil, and structural engineering students, the competition encourages participants to design trophies that honour real-life sustainability changemakers and individuals making a tangible impact on environmental or social causes in India. The designs should incorporate TMT steel bars, reinforcing the role of steel not only in building infrastructure but also in symbolising resilience, transformation, and legacy.

Govind Goyal, Director, Kalika Steel, said, “KREATE was born from our belief that the future of steel isn’t just in construction, it’s in ideas. Through this platform, we seek to inspire students to think creatively, design purposefully, and engage deeply with real-world issues like sustainability and innovation.”

The competition opened for entries on July 1, 2025, with registrations accepted until August 15, 2025. Participants will be required to submit their entries for Round 1 (Online Submission) between August 15th and August 31st, 2025. Shortlisted candidates will advance to Round 2 – the grand finale, scheduled to take place in Jalna on September 17, 2025. The detailed participation guidelines and evaluation criteria will be announced through Kalika Steel’s official channels.

Students are challenged to conceptualise trophies that represent and honour individuals making strides in environmental conservation, renewable energy, climate advocacy, or sustainable community development. Shortlisted entries will be evaluated by a panel of industry experts and social leaders, with winners receiving broad recognition, mentorship, and opportunities to showcase their work across platforms.

KREATE was launched by the second generation of Kalika Steel’s leadership to go beyond business and create a lasting platform that empowers youth. The initiative debuted in 2024 with overwhelming participation from over 600 students across 70 colleges and 21 districts in Maharashtra. Entries displayed strong technical and emotional depth, with designs based on themes aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The success of the first edition laid the foundation for an even more impactful and storytelling-driven competition in 2025.

Headquartered in Jalna, Kalika Steel was founded in 2003 by local entrepreneurs with a mission to uplift the region’s industrial landscape and contribute to national development. What started as a modest TPA operation has now grown into a facility driven by values of integrity, quality excellence, and continuous innovation. Kalika has been a pioneer in adopting eco-conscious practices, including the use of end-of-life steel, zero-discharge water recycling, and slag reuse as a river sand substitute, setting benchmarks in circular manufacturing.

The company is also dedicated to inclusive growth through various CSR initiatives, including girl child education, grassroots sports sponsorships, and youth skill development programs. Through KREATE, Kalika Steel extends this vision by investing in the creative and technical talent of tomorrow. Kalika Steel believes that design can drive change, and with KREATE 2025, it invites young minds to dream, design, and deliver with purpose.
