Pune, 23rd September 2022: The Glamanand Supermodel India 2022 final competition took place on Sunday, 4th September, at Zee Studios in Jaipur. Pune girl Kashish Methwani was crowned Miss International India 2023. She will be representing India next year in Tokyo, Japan. Apart from the main title, she also won the subtitles of ‘Best In Ramp Walk’ and ‘Miss Beauty With Brain.’ Reigning Miss Grand International Nguyen Thuy Thuc Tien of Vietnam and MGI Organization Vice President Teresa Chaivisut were the special guests of the star-studded night.
The pageant had launched a nationwide hunt to find the next Miss International India from all corners of the country through online applications followed by auditions. The extensive scouting drive and subsequent interview rounds culminated with the shortlisted selection of 29 women who competed in the glittering event.
Speaking about her victory, Kashish Methwani said, “It has always been my dream to be more than just my name, to be called INDIA. After all these years of hard work, this dream has now become a reality. To me, being Miss International India 2023 is not just a title but a responsibility – A responsibility towards my country to uphold respect on the international platform, a responsibility to inspire those who look up to me as their role model, responsibility to work more rigorously for the social cause that I am attached to and most importantly to work with a never-ending zeal to bring the crown back home and make my parents and country proud.”
Kashish Methwani received a grand welcome from friends and family when she reached Pune Airport on 10th September. As soon as she walked out, the terminal reverberated with the chants of INDIA. She was greeted by her parents and sister. She was also received by Josh push-ups of NCC cadets as a sign of respect.
The homecoming was continued in Ulhasnagar at her grandparents’ house. It was organised by Dr Raju Nathani and his entire family. Methwani was welcomed on a golden rath driven by horses and a band. A huge crowd was in wait for her and danced their way to her home. This was followed by aarti, cake cutting and a gala dinner at night, where all her relatives and friends were present.
Overwhelmed by the warm welcome, she said, “ It feels so good to be back home, to the place where my journey began as a small child stepping into the world of pageantry. I am so thankful for all the love and support. I could not have done this without the people who have stood with me and have always encouraged me. A big thank you to my sister, my parents, all my relatives, my mentor Ritika Ramtri ma’am, and the entire team of Glamanand Supermodel India for believing in me and motivating me to seize this opportunity. I promise to keep working hard and to make India proud in 2023.”
