KVIFF has produced a short film based on the success story of ’Vengurla Model’

Pune, 14th Nov, 2018 : KVIFF is the only environmental festival in India, which combines exclusive national-international film screenings and a number of allied activities. KVIFF is an innovative attempt to explore nature and analyze topical issues related to Environment, Wildlife, Energy, Air and Water. It presents the members with an opportunity to evolve together, on a common platform and work together towards preserving nature.

KVIFF is producing short films since last year on the success stories of people who are working immensely on the environment protection. The purpose of producing the short film is to reach out to a large number of people. This year, KVIFF is producing a short film “One Zero Zero” which is based on the success story of Ramdas Kokare.

Chief Officer of Dapoli Municipal Council Ramdas Kokare made Dapoli completely Plastic Free in the year 2010. He later got inspired by Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival and implemented the “Shunya Kachra Abhiyan” (plastic free village campaign) in Vengurla, Aurangabad, Matheran, Karjat etc successfully. He has received many National-International level awards for the same. Ramdas Kokre’s model will be replicated by local self-government bodies across the state.
