Learning of Lord Buddha even more relevant in the current situation – PM Narendra Modi

New Delhi, 7 May 2020- On the occasion of Buddha Purnima, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the people through video conferencing in an event that the word of Lord Buddha – Mano Pubban-Gama Dhamma, Manosetha Manomaya, i.e., Dhamma is from the mind, mind is the prime , Is the leader of all trends. Buddha is not limited to any one situation. Even today, his learning has been in constant flow in our lives. At a time when the corona virus (Kovid-19) epidemic in the world is in turmoil, at times there is a lot of grief, despair, frustration, the learning of Lord Buddha became even more relevant.

PM Modi said that when there is upheaval in the world, many times the feeling of despair, despair and frustration is seen very much, then the learning of Lord Buddha would become even more relevant.

 

PM Modi said, ‘Happy Buddha Purnima to all of you and followers of Lord Buddha spread all over the world, many best wishes for the Vesak festival. The word of Lord Buddha is – Mano Pubbam-gama Dhamma, Manosetha Manomaya, ie, Dhamma is from the mind itself, mind is the prime, leading all tendencies. It would be a great pleasure to be among you, but the situation is not like that right now. So, from afar, through technology you gave me the opportunity to speak, I am satisfied. Such integration of ceremonies taking place at Sri Anuradhapura Stupa and Vaskaduwa Temple in Sri Lanka apart from Lumbini, Bodh Gaya, Sarnath and Kushinagar is very beautiful. Online broadcasting of Puja programs happening everywhere is an amazing experience in itself.

Regarding the Corona Warriors, our health care workers, PM Modi said, ‘You have resolved to celebrate this event as a prayer week for health workers and other service workers from all over the world who are facing the Corona global epidemic. I commend you for this compassionate initiative. The message and resolve to remove the difficulty of every life has always shown direction to India’s civilization, culture. Lord Buddha has further enriched this culture of India. He became his own lamp and through his life journey, he illuminated the lives of others as well.

The cycle of time has been going on for so many centuries, covering many situations, time has changed, the situation has changed, the system of society has changed, but the message of Lord Buddha has been continuously flowing in our life. This has been possible only because Buddha is not just a name, but also a sacred thought.
