Lila Poonawalla Foundation Marks 30 Years of Impact with Independence Day, Inspira Release & Blood Donation Drive
Baner, 16th August 2025: The Lila Poonawalla Foundation (LPF) celebrated a landmark occasion by uniting four significant milestones in one grand event on Saturday. The celebration brought together the 79th Independence Day, the Foundation’s 30-year journey, the release of the 65th edition of its newsletter Inspira, and a large-scale Blood Donation Drive.
The event was held at Bharati Vidyapeeth Rabindranath Tagore School of Excellence, Baner, Pune, in collaboration with Axis Bank (PB Branch) and Bharati Vidyapeeth Hospital.
The celebration was graced by Padma Shri Lila Poonawalla, Chairperson of LPF, and Firoz Poonawalla, Founder Trustee of LPF. The Guests of Honour included Bhushan Vaidya, Cluster Head & Senior Vice President-1 at Axis Bank, Dr. Bhagyashree, Principal of Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College, Pune, and Sharmila Govande, Senior General Manager – Operations at LPF.
The Blood Donation Drive received an overwhelming response, with more than 100 donors participating. The initiative not only celebrated India’s independence but also reflected LPF’s commitment to extending its impact beyond girls’ education by serving society at large.

Speaking on the occasion, LPF’s Founder Trustee said, “Today is about celebrating our nation’s Independence and contributing meaningfully to society. Every drop of blood donated is a gift of life and a beacon of hope for someone in need.”
The release of Inspira (65th edition) highlighted LPF’s continued efforts in empowering girls through education and showcased success stories of its scholars over the years.
Marking three decades of impact, LPF reaffirmed its belief that true progress lies in empowering minds, nurturing lives, and fostering a spirit of service that goes hand in hand with nation-building.
