Lohegaon Residents claim corporator taking credit for ‘their’ work

Lohegaon, Pune, August 12, 2019 : A citizens group – Lohegaon Residents Welfare Association (LRWA) – has claimed that corporator Rekha Tingre of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is taking ‘undue credit’ for their work in getting a traffic signal installed at the busy Jakat Naka chowk on Dhanori road.
The LRWA tweeted several messages and photos in this regard on Sunday. “Dear all, You all are very well aware who has taken efforts for getting Traffic Signal at Jakat Naka. This is an example showing people who do nothing & least bothered for development of Lohegaon, but always ready to claim undue credit for their political benefits but they don’t realize ‘Janata Sab Janti Hai’ & already it is very evident that LRWA team with help of Hon’ble MLA of Vadgaon Sheri Matdar Sangh Shri Jagdish Mulik, PMC officials (including PMC commissioner, Saurabh Rao) & traffic department has made signal installation possible within 1 month at Jakat Naka. LRWA strongly opposes this act which was done with the sole purpose of getting undue credit and undue publicity LRWA is thankful to our MLA, Traffic Police department, PMC officials, Traffic management & Signal team of LRWA and all volunteers who devoted their family time in managing traffic. We, LRWA have not received any kind of help from any one else”, LRWA tweeted.
Other people have also reacted to this. A twitter user Ankur Bhalla posted, “Very surprising hope they will put atleast 10% energy in development of porwal road or lohegaon instead of political gimmicks.”
Dr Rakesh Ojha tweeted, “Very shameful act, dirty politics..these people are doing nothing but ready to take undue credit..Mulik sir, thanks for your support to LRWA. Thanks to PMC and traffic police department. That poster is joke of today.”
When contacted, Rekha Tingre said, “The area comes under my Pabhag No.1 PMC. I had took the traffic issue in the meeting and was keeping the followup. Hence the signals were installed by PMC. And the signals will start immediately with 2-3 days.
