LSD, Ganja, Mephedrone Drug Worth Rs 19.45 Lakh Recovered in Pune Crackdown; Police Nab Three Accused

Narhe, 3rd December 2024: The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Pune Crime Branch has arrested three young men allegedly involved in drug trafficking in the Sinhagad Road area. The operation led to the seizure of narcotics, including Ganja, LSD, and mephedrone, worth ₹19.45 lakh.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Anshul Santosh Mishra (27), a B.A. graduate from Buldhana, Arsh Uday Vyas (25), a resident of Pant Nagar, Ghatkopar East, Mumbai, who was employed with an airline and Piyush Sharad Ingle (22), a Chikhali, Chinchwad resident who recently completed a computer course. According to officials, the three were allegedly supplying narcotics to a group of youths in the area.

Acting on a tip-off received by police constable Sandeep Shirke, a team from the Anti-Narcotics Cell, led by Police Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad, set up a trap at Bhumkar Chowk in Narhe. The accused were intercepted and detained, and a search revealed 251 grams of OG Kush Ganja, 15 grams of mephedrone, and 62 milligrams of LSD.

The accused are currently in police custody as further investigations are underway to determine the extent of their network and connections to the larger drug trade.
The arrests and seizures are part of a broader crackdown under the guidance of senior officials, including Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, and DCP Nikhil Pingle.

The operation was executed by a team comprising Assistant Police Inspector Aniket Pote, Sub-Inspector Digambar Kokate, and constables Sachin Malve, Vinayak Salve, Praveen Utekar, Sandesh Kakade, Dattaram Jadhav, Sujit Wadekar, Nutan Ware, Rehana Sheikh and Vipul Gaikwad.
