Madhurima, Hitesh in finals of Gadre Marine MSLTA – ITF Junior Grade 3 U18 tennis Championships

Pune, December 2, 2022: Local Girl and third seed Madhurima Sawant and Giantkiller Hitesh Chauhan entered the Girls and Boys singles finals at the Gadre Marine MSLTA – ITF Junior Grade 3 U18 tennis Championships for the MV Deo Cup organized by Deccan Gymkhana Under the auspices of ITF, Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association and Pune Metropolitan District Tennis Association to be played at the Deccan Gymkhana Tennis Courts.

 

In the girls finals third seeded Madhurima.will take on seventh seeded Margot Phanthala of France. , in the boys singles unseeded giant killer Hitesh Chauhan will clash with sixth seeded Aleksandar Daskalovic of Serbia

 

In the Girls semifinals seventh seeded French girl Margot Phanthala knocked out sixth seeded Tejasvi Dabas 6-3 6-1 , the highest remaining seed in the event Madhurima Sawant stopped the winning run of Kolhapur lucky loser Aishwarya Jadhav 6-2 6-1

 

In the boys semifinals giantkiller Hitesh Chauhan scraped past Adhirit Awal 5-7, 7-6(4), 7-6(9) in a thrilling encounter , sixth seeded Serbian Aleksandar Daskalovic won as Chinese Taipei’s Chieh En Hou retired in the wam time itself

 

Top seeds Aman Dahiya and Kriish Tyagi scored an 6-2 7-6(3) win over second seeded Bushan Haobam and Daksh Prasad to claim the boys doubles crown.Second seeded Thai pair of Lidia Podgorichani and Kamonwan Yodpetch scored an relatively easy 6-4, 6-3 win over Indian pair Ruma Gaikaiwari and Madhurima Sawant to win the title.

 

The doubles winners got a trophy and 75points and Runner up got trophy and 45 points. The prizes were given away at the hands of Mr.Ashwin Girme, tennis secretary of Deccan Gymkhana and the tournament Director and ITF Supervisor Leena Nageshkar as present on the occasion .
