Pune: Loyola H.S in seventh heaven

Pune, 02 December 2022: Loyola High School turned in a dominating performance by winning all their matches in the Loyola Football Cup powered by Tata Autocomp at the Loyola H.S ground, Pashan here on Friday.

The tournament, organised by the Ex Loyola Students Network (ELAN) and Loyola High School, Pune, had Loyola H.S make full use of their home ground and score at will in all three age-group categories that they figured in.

In the Under-12 section, Loyola H.S rode on a brace of goals by Adiraj Singh (13th, 21st) to down SSPMS Boarding 5-1. Loyola opened their account through Tanush Khune (11th) and thereafter added goals at equal intervals through Anurag Parasnis (31st) and Shaun Angre (39th) respectively. SSPMS Boarders pulled themselves into the match when Swaraj Mane (29th) made it 2-1, but Loyola proved tough.

Later, in the Under-14 section, Loyola H.S logged a 7-0 win over SSPMS Boarding. Three goals each by Darsh Kasat (8th, 39th, 48th) and Parth Shinde (27th, 30th, 48th) totally put the hosts in command. Param Kulkarni (50th) completed the tally for Loyola H.S.

Loyola H.S Under-16’s turned in a repeat seven-star scoreline against SSPMS Boarding who suffered their third loss of the day. A hat-trick by Vedant Gupta (11th, 13th, 15th) was the highlight of the hosts win. Adding up to the scoring lines were goals from Yuvraj Bhosale (7th), Brian D’Souza (22nd), Dhir Parmar (27th) and Jatin Naidu (36th).
