Magnetic Maharashtra: Pune to get Rs 7,000 crore investment, More than 10 thousand jobs to be created

Pune, June 18, 2020: The second phase of the industry department’s ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’ will see an investment of Rs 7,000 crore in and around Pune. The investment is expected to create more than 10,000 jobs directly in Pune. A large number of jobs are going to be created even from the small scale industries that will complement these coming industries.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has announced that Maharashtra has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with 12 companies for investment worth Rs 16,000 crores. Now the information will be sent to districts to review the requirements of the industries shortly. According to the MoU, more than ten thousand jobs will be created in Pune. It will also generate a large number of jobs from other industries that complement these industries. This investment is going to be very important against the backdrop of the Coronavirus epidemic forced lockdown which almost crippled the economy.



Sadashiv Survase, Joint Director, Industries, Pune Division, said, an investment of Rs 7,000 crore will be made in Pune district. Out of these agreements, the Great Wall Motors (GWM) project will be important for Pune and will generate employment and financial benefits. GWM is the leading company in China that makes electric vehicles. The company had already been allotted land in Pune district. However, due to technical and financial difficulties, the project could not earlier. However, this company has again preferred Pune and if the project of this company is implemented, it can be a promising thing for the industry trust in the district. Pune has the necessary infrastructure for the automobile industry and there are ancillary industries for this sector, as well as the skilled manpower required for this industry. ‘

Singapore’s Acsendas Group is already working on infrastructure and transportation in Pune. Now, China’s Greatwall and PMI Electro are coming to the automobile sector. A South Korean company is also coming to Ranjangaon for the electronic design system. Although the food processing project of Varun Beverages Company will be done at Supa, as it is adjacent to Pune district, it will also benefit Pune to a large extent.
