Pune, 9th April 2021: After pressure from all quarters of the society, the Maharashtra Public State Commission (MPSC) examination has been postponed. A decision was taken a short while ago in an emergency meeting held under the leadership of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

The examination was to be held on Sunday (April 11, 2021). The new date will be announced soon.

Demand from all quarters to postpone the examination

For the last few days, the demand to postpone the examination was taking firm grounds in the State. The students through social media ran campaigns to postpone the examination which got support from political parties, society and the education sector.

Few of these MPSC students have tested positive for Covid-19 after they held protests last month in Pune demanding conduct of the examination on time.

The rising cases in Maharashtra have become a worry for all. This resulted in stress among the MPSC students appearing for the examination.

Support from Political parties/leaders

Today in the morning, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena founder Raj Thackeray had called up CM Uddhav Thackeray requesting to postpone the MPSC examination.

Similarly, Cabinet minister for Housing Jitendra Awhad thanked the CM for taking the decision. He said, “Students are afraid as the number of positive Covid-19 cases is huge. I knew the CM who’s of sensitive nature would take the decision. I am happy and thank CM for taking this decision”.
