Maharashtra: 46,197 New Covid-19 Cases, 125 Omicron Patients Reported Today In PMC

Pune, 20th January 2022: 46,197 new Coronavirus positive cases reported in Maharashtra while 52,025 patients discharged today, 69,67,432 COVID-19 patients discharged after full recovery until today. The Recovery rate in the state is 94.52%. 37 COVID-19 deaths reported in the state today. The Case fatality rate is the state is 1.92%.

Out of 7,27,45,348 laboratory samples 73,71,757 have been tested positive (10.13%) for COVID19 until today.

Currently 24,21,501 people are in home quarantine and 3,391 people are in institutional quarantine.

Omicron surveillance related information:
Today, 125 patients with Omicron infection have been reported in the state. Of these, 87 have been reported by Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, 38 have been reported by National Chemical Laboratory.

Details of the cases are as below:
• PMC-125

Till date, a total of 2199 patients infected with Omicron variant have been reported in the state.

Out of these, 1144 cases have been discharged following a negative RTPCR test. The details of international passengers arriving at Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur airports from 1st December till today morning.

Additionally, field surveillance of all international passengers who have arrived since 1st November is underway. Through airport and field surveillance, 5530 samples have been sent for genomic sequencing. Results of 96 are awaited so far.
