Pune Police Special Cell Busts Fake Aadhaar Card Racket, Two Persons Arrested

Pune, 20th January 2022: The special cell of Pune city police have busted a racket of making fake Aadhaar cards based on bogus documents.
The arrested persons have been identified as Aziz Yusuf Sheikh of Ghorpadigaon and Jorna Hasim Sheikh (34) of Guruwar Peth.
Acting on a tip-off, the special branch’s special cell team raided Sky Star Multiservices shop in Vanraj Corner Building on BT Kawde Road, on Wednesday. 10 forms prescribed by the government, used for issuing new Aadhaar cards and for correcting the information of the Aadhaar card, were found unauthorisedly in the drawer of the shop counter. They had names and details of men and women. They had a horizontal stamp of corporator as well as a round seal of member of Pune Municipal Corporation.
“It has been concluded that despite the fact that there is no proof of residence, the accused made Aadhaar card by filling in the form with different addresses on the prescribed form”, police stated in a press release.
Now an FIR has been registered against the two accused at Mundhwa police station for offences under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (Forgery of valuable security, will, etc.), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using forged document as genuine) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The action was taken under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Bhagyashree Navtake and ACP Rajendra Salunke. The team included Assistant Police Inspector Vasanti Jadhav, PSI Abdul Karim Syed, ASI Anil Ghadge, Ismail Sheikh, Sudhir Deshmukh, Vijay Bhosale, Head Constables Bharat Ransing, Pramod Ghadge, Police Naik Shubhangi Taru and driver Head Constable Raju Dhende.
The case is being further investigated by API Prashant Mane of Mundhwa police station.
