Pune, 25th December 2026: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has made Aadhaar and the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID mandatory for candidates appearing in CET examinations from 2026 onwards. In another significant reform, the MHT-CET will be conducted twice a year starting from 2026, a move aimed at giving students additional opportunities to take the entrance test.

For the 2026 academic year, candidates applying for CET examinations will be required to ensure that all mandatory documents are complete and updated before submitting their online applications. Aadhaar card verification along with APAAR ID will be compulsory during the registration process. The online application process for CET 2026 is expected to begin shortly on the official website of the State CET Cell.

According to the guidelines issued by the CET Cell, candidates must possess a valid Aadhaar card with accurate and updated details. This includes the candidate’s name, date of birth as mentioned in the Class 10 certificate, latest photograph, address, father’s name, and an active mobile number linked to Aadhaar.

In addition to Aadhaar, candidates will be required to generate an APAAR ID, which will be mandatory for all applicants seeking admission through CET from 2026 onwards. The APAAR ID will play a key role in the registration and verification process.

Candidates with disabilities must upload a disability certificate issued by a competent authority or a Unique Disability ID (UDID) card. The CET Cell has advised such candidates to obtain a UDID card well in advance before applying.

The CET Cell has further emphasised that details on the Aadhaar card, including name, date of birth, address and mobile number, must exactly match the information mentioned on the Class 10 certificate. The mobile number linked to Aadhaar must remain active to ensure smooth communication throughout the admission process.
