Maharashtra Education Department Issues Order Banning Direct Admission To Class 11

Pune, 23 July 2021: CET for admission to class 11 is imperative. And education department is implementing the process to conduct CET in the state. However, it has banned the junior colleges that are trying to admit the students to class 11 without taking the CET.

In a notification issued by the education department, it has clearly mentioned that no admission will be made without CET to class 11.

Director of Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Dinkar Temkar said, “The process of CET is underway. There are a few colleges wooing the parents to admit their ward to class 11 without CET. This has created confusion among the parents and students”.

“To clarify and clear the confusion this notification has been issued”, he said.

This year standard 10th examination was cancelled owing to second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. However, while passing the students through internal evaluation, the State decided to conduct the CET for admission to class 11.

Temkar in the notification clearly mentioned that an independent process will be carried out for admission to class 11. Till then, colleges cannot start their admission process for class 11.
